Derom Bangun

Derom Bangun is Vice Chairman of Indonesian Palm Oil Board (IPOB). He was graduated in Chemical Engineering from ITB (Bandung Institute of Technology), attended Senior Executive Program at Sloan School of Management, MIT, USA as well as Oils and Fats Trading Course by FOSFA (Federation of Oils, Seeds and Fats Association) in London. His experience includes 22 years working for P.T. Socfindo as Head of Technical/Technological Department and as Adviser to the Management and 10 years as a consultant for designing and supervising the erection of palm oil mills and refineries. He founded and managed P.T. Kinar Lapiga and two other small plantation companies. In Gapki he served as Chairman from 1999-2006, as Executive Chairman from 2006-2009 and currently as a member of Advisory Board. Derom Bangun was named man of the year by Globoil India, Mumbai in 2006 and awarded Honorary Fellowship by Malaysian Oils Scientists and Technologists Association (MOSTA), Malaysia in 2010. He has been a speaker at international conferences on palm oil in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, London, Mumbai, Phoenix (USA), Oxford, Jakarta, and Bali. In 2010 he was convened as a member of External Advisory Group to the World Bank. Presently he is a commissioner for P.T. Tolan Tiga Indonesia (Sipef Group) and P.T. VVF (India), an oleo – chemical industry.

Leonard Beschizza

Leonard Beschizza’s career started in 1971 as a junior natural rubber trader with Pacol Ltd – a member of the Gill & Duffus Group, at that time one of the world’s leading commodity trade houses where he was subsequently appointed as a director of the main board. The experience of working in an environment where corporate governance and disciplined risk management were key components led him, in 1987, to take up the post of heading the Singapore Commodity arm of Centrobank, a leading Austrian merchant Bank. From 1995 until September 2010 he was employed by PT. PP London Sumatra Indonesia Tbk as Head of Sales and Price Risk Management for Palm Oil, Rubber and Cocoa. In October 2010 he was appointed as CEO of Halcyon Agri Corporation, a member of the Halcyon Investment Company, a company concentrating on supply chain management which in turn complements the agri processing assets that it owns in South Sumatera. This year sees Mr. Beschizza returning to Bali for the 5th year as Moderator of the closing session of Indonesian Palm Oil Conference and Price Outlook.

Dato' Mamat Salleh

Dato' Mamat Salleh is the Chief Executive of Malaysian Palm Oil Association (MPOA) . He has 37 years of experience in various semi government agencies and the palm oil industry. His last position was with the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) as Deputy Director General.

During his active career, he had worked in the Urban Development Authority (UDA), National Livestock Development Authority (NALDA), Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) and Palm Oil Registration and Licensing Authority (PORLA). He was the Executive Board Member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil and also the chairman of the Life Cycle Assessment Committee for Agro-Industry of Standard Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM).

He was educated in University of Malaya (Bachelor of Economics) and Institute of Social Studies, The Hague, The Netherlands (Post Graduate Diploma and Masters of Social Science).
